The Story Pines Inn is one of those hidden treasures you find along the back roads. Our peaceful country inn is nestled in the pines at the base of the Bighorn Mountains, midway between the Black Hills and Yellowstone National Park. Story is a quiet little mountain village where wildlife and fresh air abound. . . and the traffic is left back on the interstate.
Take the road less traveled and find paradise

Enjoy and revel in the great outdoors when you stay at Story Pines Inn. We are conveniently located between Sheridan and Buffalo, Wyoming. Take a short day trip into the mountains via HWY 16 (through Buffalo) or HWY 14 (north of Sheridan). Each holds treasures of their own. Some of our favorites are; Tie Hack Reservoir, Crazy Woman Canyon, Shell Falls, and the Medicine Wheel.
Need to find food in the area? While it’s not the largest bunch of restaurants out there, you’ll find some pretty great places to get your grub on. Check out our dining page for more information.

Friendly, kind and genuine owners! Their inn is neatly kept and well loved! Our room was clean, neat and had all the necessities. The price was unbelievably affordable, and rare in this day and age!!! Loved this quaint and beautiful hidden treasure
Will definitely be back to visit again. Small and cute hotel with lots of charm. Loved the patio! Clean rooms and thoughtful touches. I appreciated the hot coffee ready and waiting first thing in the morning.

This is a wonderful, cozy, quiet, motel in the middle of big horn country. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean & neat. The owners & their pup were amazing & friendly. The tree hammocks were perfect for relaxing in the cool evenings. There was wildlife all over & fresh coffee every morning. We had a wonderful time & will definitely stay again in the future. Thanks for the great stay!
